Georgia: Ryan Seacrest
Birthplace: Dunwoody
Fun Fact: Growing up in an affluent suburb of Atlanta, the "American Idol" host, 38, dreamed of becoming the next Dick Clark. As ''The Voice of Dunwoody High School,'' he led the daily Pledge of Allegiance over the public address system. His mother told Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "Instead of playing with G.I. Joes or Cowboys and Indians, he would always have a little microphone and do shows in the house." And he was a hard worker even then. While interning at Atlanta's STAR 94-FM at 16, he soon had his own shift. "I remember thinking, Everything I do from this point on is a step," Seacrest told Details in 2008. "If I'm scrubbing the break room, I'm closer to the studio room. And if I'm in the studio room, I'm closer to the microphone. If I'm closer to the microphone ... I really got the psychology of it — that everything is connected." At 19, he left the University of Georgia, where he was studying journalism, to move to Hollywood.
