Patton Oswalt Pays Tribute to Late Wife Michelle McNamara With Quote From His Daughter

A week after his wife, true crime writer Michelle McNamara, passed away suddenly, Patton Oswalt shared a heartbreaking quote from his daughter on Sunday.

Alice, 7, is Patton and Michelle’s only child.
McNamara, who married Oswalt in 2005, passed away in her sleep on April 21, according to her publicist.
It was “a complete shock to her family and friends, who loved her dearly,” her publicist said. No cause of death has been given yet.
Oswalt, who has something of a complicated history with Twitter, has been mostly silent since McNamara’s passing, but memorialized her by remembering her work last week.

That same tweet pointed to a tribute page set up in McNamara’s honor, seeking donations to 826LA, a non-profit which helps foster children’s love for writing. McNamara ran a website called True Crime Diary, which sought to solve both new and cold cases.
