Zac Efron is on the mend after injuring himself on the set of his new movie Townies, Us Weekly can confirm. The actor sported a bandaged cast on his right hand during the MTV Movie Awards in Culver City, Calif., April 14.
The 25-year-old actor hurt himself shooting the comedy with Seth Rogen on April 11, two sources reveal. "It was a stupid accident," one insider tells Us. "He had it looked at. He's hoping it will heal fast -- he's got a lot of work to do."
Efron appeared to be in good spirits when he joined Rogen and Danny McBride on stage to present the award for Best Shirtless Performance to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2's Taylor Lautner. (This Is the End's Rogen and McBride memorably appeared with Efron sans pants for their appearance.)
Backstage, the High School Musical vet was stopped by Quvenzhane Wallis' mom, who took a photo of the two actors together on her iPhone. Efron was overheard telling the youngest Best Leading Actress Oscar nominee, "I loved your movie!" The Beasts of the Southern Wild star, 9, "was shy but beaming at him," an attendee tells Us.
