Ronda Rousey to Host ‘SNL’ With Musical Guest Selena Gomez

Ronda Rousey is set to host “Saturday Night Live” one week after Adam Driver takes a turn. The latter participant was announced previously.

The UFC fighter and Olympic gold medalist’s musical guest will be Selena Gomez; Jan. 23 will also mark Gomez’s first turn in the famed Studio 8H.

The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star’s JAn. 16 musical accompaniment will come from Chris Stapleton.

The popular Rousey famously lost to Holly Holm in November, the former’s first professional defeat. At the time of this writing, it is not clear if the Rousey booking came before or after the loss, though the pace of “Saturday Night Live” suggests this appearance was set up purposefully for her public comeback.

“SNL” was busy in December, with original shows hosted by Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth, and Tina Fey with Amy Poehler.

Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
