Rob Gronkoswki Shades Denver Broncos With Crude Joke Before AFC Title Game

Trash talk is part of the game of football, but New England Patriots’ star Rob Gronkowski might have gone too far when dissing the Denver Broncos. Ahead of their Jan. 24 AFC championship game, Rob threw some pretty crude shade towards his opponents. Click to see.

Rob Gronkowski, 26, knows that to win a Super Bowl, you have to get into your opponent’s head. But the New England Patriots’ tight end got pretty gross when he blasted his AFC Champions opponents, the Denver Broncos. Does Gronk now owe someone an apology?

Gronk was chatting with the Pats Nation on Jan. 19, ahead of the Jan. 24 game. One Pats fan said she “heard the [Broncos] are gunna hit Rob Gronkowski in the knees to bring him down, @Patriots be careful. Don’t wanna see him hurt again!” While Rob seemed to appreciate the concern, his response about the Broncos wasn’t so heartwarming: “Heard their whole team is good at giving low blows.”

Uh, yeah. Gronk’s quasi-homophobic insult aside, he has some legit beef with Denver over its defensive strategy. When the Pats faced off against Denver on Nov. 29, Rob had to be carted off the field after defender Darian Stewart — surprise, surprise — hit him low. Gronk’s right knee whipped to the back and the right after colliding with Darian. While this wasn’t an initial thought to be a dirty hit, Gronk might be on his guard going into the division championship game.

Denver CB Chris Harris Jr. confirmed that the Broncos are targeting Gronk’s legs, reports Deadspin. When asked how he plans on taking down Gronk, who is bigger and stronger than the average NFL player, Chris said “You gotta hit him low — hit him in the knees.” No wonder Gronk was so crude when trashing Denver.

When Gronk looks for a little payback on Jan. 24, thankfully, he’ll be joined by Chandler Jones. The Patriots’ defensive end was rushed to the Norwood Hospital after visiting the Foxboro Police Department on Jan. 10. Chandler reportedly acted “confused,” and when a police officer visited Chandler’s home, the cop reported a “Class D (Delta)” substance.

Chandler suffered a bad reaction to what was later reported to be synthetic marijuana, reports NESN. The Patriots star owned up for his actions, apologizing for his “stupid mistake.” Now, will Gronk apologize for his quasi-homophobic insult against the Broncos?

What do you think about Gronk’s insult, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he should apologize for his crude remark?
