In some bombshell casting news, Minka Kelly and Matthew McConaughey have just been cast as Jackie Kennedy and John F. Kennedy.
Precious director Lee Daniels just revealed that the two will play the Kennedy couple in his upcoming project The Butler, which is based a Washington Post article by Wil Haygood on Eugene Allen, the late White House butler who served eight presidents during his tenure from 1952 to 1986. Forest Whitaker will play Allen, with Oprah Winfrey playing his wife. The presidential roles also serve up quite the ensemble cast with Alan Rickman playing Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda playing Nancy Reagan (seriously, she's playing a conservative?!) and John Cusack playing Richard Nixon.
But by far the biggest stretch is Matthew and Minka. Could you even see Matthew without the Texas twang and his party boy image to play the president of the United States?! And yes, Minka is obviously pretty, but her looks are much more Maxim than Vogue -- not to mention the fact that her most successful roles to date have been the hot chick in Friday Night Lights, and the hot chick in 500 Days of Summer. Clearly a stretch of her acting abilities right?
But I guess if Ashton Kutcher can play Steve Jobs, anything is possible in Hollywood!
