Lincoln Chafee Drops Out of Democratic Presidential Race
Former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee will drop out of the Democratic presidential race on Friday, shrinking the field down to Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley.
Politico reported on what Chafee will say at a Democratic National Committee event in Washington, D.C.
“As you know I have been campaigning on a platform of Prosperity Through Peace,” he’ll say. “But after much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today. I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace.”

The former governor and senator was polling at just one-tenth of 1 percent and reportedly raised just $30,000 in his campaign.
His lone high point was during the Democratic debate when he was able to get in a zinger or two against frontrunner Hillary Clinton; even those fell flat.
His exit from the campaign won’t significantly change the current breakdown, which has Clinton with a comfortable lead over second place Bernie Sanders.
