Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek has skated his way into newly-single Vera Wang’s Beverly Hills mansion, but has he also done the same with her heart? Less than a week after the 63-year-old fashion designer announced she had split from her husband of 23 years, Arthur Becker, it’s being reported that “something is going on” between her and the ice skater, who is 36 years her junior. According to the New York Daily News, Lysacek moved into her home last month and has been spotted around town driving a white Bentley and rocking a huge Rolex watch. Wang, adds a second source, is “just enamored with him and enjoys his company.”
The unlikely pairing is not a new thing. Wang, a former nationally-competing figure skater herself, designed the tuxedo-style outfit Lysacek wore when he won the 2009 World Championships, as well as his costumes for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Since then, the two have been spotted side by side numerous times on red carpets, hugging courtside at a New York Knicks game, arm-in-arm at dinner in Los Angeles, and even grocery shopping together.
Wang may be trying to turn back the hands of time in order to look like she’s closer in age to the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant, who has previously romanced fellow Olympian, gymnast Nastia Liukin. The Daily News also reports that she underwent a facelift in late May and recovered in San Francisco until early June. A few weeks later on July 11, Wang and Becker, who have two college-aged daughters, announced their split.
Wang’s rep had no comment regarding her relationship with Lysacek.
