Geena Davis 'Would Love' to Be in 'Beetlejuice' Sequel
Geena Davis is known for a slew of iconic roles, including (if not especially) Thelma in Thelma & Louise, Dottie Henson in A League of Their Own, and her Academy Award-winning turn as Muriel Pritchett in The Accidental Tourist.
But, this being October and all, there's one movie of hers in particular that's fresh in our minds: Beetlejuice. The 1998 comedy has gone well beyond cult hit into pure classic category, and both Halloween lovers and Tim Burton fans alike fangirl over it like it's the end-all be-all ghost flick (sorry, Casper).

ETonline had the chance to chat with Davis about her work as the co-founder of the Bentonville Film Festival (which sees the release of its first winning film, the documentary In My Father's House, on Oct. 9) and with the Geena Davis Institute of Gender in Media. With Winona Ryder having confirmed that a Beetlejuice sequel is in the works, we obviously had to ask Davis if she would be reprising her role as lovable ghost Barbara Maitland alongside her on-screen husband, Alec Baldwin.
"I did hear that it's really happening," the 59-year-old actress tells ETonline. "No one's talked to me about it. I would love to! That was one of my favorite movies, too."
Despite the mom of three's love of the flick, there is one minor problem that could stop the chances of her making a cameo.
"But ghosts probably don't age, and it's going to be 30 years now. Of course, I haven't aged, but I think Alec Baldwin maybe has aged, perhaps," Davis jokes.
Age ain't nothing but a number, especially when they learned this sheet trick in the first movie:

So, Tim Burton, are you listening? Davis' sense of humor is fully intact, and you would be making all of our dreams come true. Imagine: Baldwin, Ryder and Michael Keaton all back in action together? I'll make our heads spin.
We also had to take the opportunity to ask her about another one of her movies, albeit a much lesser known one (unless you are a diehard fan, which this writer may or may not very much be): Quick Change. The 1990 flick kicks off with Bill Murray dressed in a clown suit as he robs a bank with the help of his girlfriend (Davis) and a buffoon of a best friend (Randy Quaid), before the trio attempts to make a quick getaway, which proves nearly impossible in Manhattan. If you haven't seen it, go attempt to find it, because it's comedy gold.
Davis was both happy and surprised for the trip down memory lane when we told her that Quick Change was one of our all time favorites. "I like that movie, too!" she said. "It didn't catch on so well, but it was great."

But Murray wasn't the first name that came to mind when she recalled the film. "Do you remember the bus driver, Tony Shalhoub? He's talking in some foreign language, and he's on the bus not knowing anything," she recalls, laughing.
Yes. Yes, we do.
This is our official petition to, if not get Davis into the Beetlejuice sequel, to at least suggest a movie marathon of her classic flicks.
