Nobody puts Baby in a corner, but Lionsgate has put its planned Dirty Dancing remake on the backburner, according to Variety.
It was announced late last year that the Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey classic would be getting the remake treatment under the guiding eye of High School Musical director Kenny Ortega. And despite not having a script or a star, the studio announced a July 26, 2013 release date.
But after Lionsgate merged with Summit, they were reportedly left with so many movies to release, this planned production has been put on indefinite hold.
No complaints here. Why mess with perfection? I mean, didn't Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights teach us anything?
