If things had turned out differently, Carmen Electra could have been the woman carrying Simon Cowell's firstborn child. Instead, the X Factor judge impregnated Manhattan socialite Lauren Silverman, who is in the midst of divorcing his close friend, real estate mogul Andrew Silverman. At the Do Something Awards in Hollywood on Wednesday, July 31, Electra -- who briefly romanced Cowell in late 2012 -- reacted to her former love's baby news.
"I'm so happy for him," the actress and singer, 41, told Us Weekly. "I'm very proud of him and so happy." Though Cowell once admitted to Ryan Seacrest that he and Electra were "dating," the former Baywatch babe insisted that they merely had "a very flirtatious friendship."
Electra admitted that she was surprised to hear Cowell has a little one on the way, though she believes he'll make an excellent father. "What I witnessed working with him on Britain's Got Talent and coming to see him during X Factor is that the people he truly believes in, he stands up for them and supports them," she explained. "I obviously think that his child will be very well taken care of and very, very loved."
"I'm going to call him like as soon as I get in the car after the event," the star told Us. "I want to know if it's a boy or a girl! It's awesome. I'm super happy for him. He's lovely."
