If you haven’t already done so, start saving up for what will surely be a memorable brunch experience at Magnolia Table (which previously had a working title of Waco) when it opens later this year. The upcoming restaurant in Waco, Texas, has been the passion project for Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, who first announced plans for the joint in October when they purchased the town’s longtime staple the Elite Cafe, which closed after being in business since 1919. In a new blog post this week, Joanna says they’ve been working hard on the restaurant’s new look, “from carefully choosing finishes, textures, and paint colors, to designing tables, chairs, and light fixtures,” aka things they can do with their eyes closed after years of home renovation magic. According to Joanna, the building was deemed a historic landmark 20 years ago, so the original character of the Elite Cafe will remain.

Official Demo day has happened at the restaurant this week! Excited to get this thing started @chippergaines

Joanna also revealed more details about Magnolia Table’s menu, which will include “Chip’s favorite breakfast items,” his “famous ham sandwich,” and items that are already popular among the Magnolia empire's staff: farm eggs benedict, the Gaines Brothers Burger, and homemade pies. Magnolia Table will join Chip and Joanna’s food truck park and new-ish bakery Silos Baking Co., which opened last summer in downtown Waco. No word on whether or not the two operations will feature crossover menu items, but there’s no doubt that Magnolia Table will be Instagram-ready.

Breakfast of champions.
