Moose Stuck at Airport Car Rental Corralled Back to Connecticut Woods

One moose made the most of his Monday, making a pit stop at a Connecticut Enterprise Rent-A-Car to peruse the cars.

Thing is, when he was done, he couldn’t get out.

Authorities had to step in to help the wild moose get loose from the Bradley International Airport car rental parking lot and back to the open woods where he belongs.

A road was shut down and a team of troopers from the East Granby Police Department and Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) worked together to direct the large animal back to the woods and swamp land, a Facebook post by the Connecticut State Police said.

A video shared by the department shows the moose making a run for it afterward. It was a rescue mission that none of those involved could have prepared for.

“File this under ‘things they don’t tell you about in the academy,’ ” said the Facebook post shared on Monday.
