How do Hollywood’s biggest foodies fare in the kitchen? Well, we’re all about to find out.
Mindy Kaling, Minka Kelly, Colin Hanks, Erin Andrews, Busy Phillips, and Alyson Hannigan will partake in a culinary crash course, working as line cooks alongside top chefs in a restaurant kitchen, on the new Food Network series Star Plates.

Chefs Vinny Dotolo, Susan Feniger, Marcus Samuelsson, Michael Voltaggio, Dakota Weiss, and Geoffrey Zakarian will pair up with a celebrity and act as a mentor as they work to create their favorite dishes in a high-pressure restaurant setting.

The six-episode series — which premieres Sept. 27 — will showcase situations like Kaling in Samuellson’s Red Rooster restaurant as she learns how the make the Harlem eatery’s signature fried chicken. Meanwhile, Kelly — who is a culinary school grad — will be in the Georgie kitchen with Zakarian, and Andrews will try to tackle the lunch rush at Frengier’s Border Grill in Los Angeles.
