Michael Bublé Revealed ‘Really Special’ Holiday Plans Before Son’s Cancer Diagnosis

Michael Buble 'Excited About Life' After Son's Cancer Battle

Michael Bublé shared his “crazy” Christmas celebrations with Kelly Ripa in an a Live! appearance recorded prior to his son’s cancer diagnosis.

“This is a really special time of year and traditions are really important,” Bublé said during the interview, which aired Friday.

In November, the Canadian singer and his wife Luisana Lopilato revealed in a statement online that their 3-year-old son Noah is battling cancer. The couple said, “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”

The 41-year-old told Ripa that he and Lopilato, who hails from Argentina, have “people come from all over” for their holiday celebrations.

“From South Africa, people come from London, Maine, Los Angeles,” Bublé said. “And they come to my house and I have a massive get-together with all of these people that have spent years with me. My best friends. And they come with my whole family from Argentina, my wife’s parents — it’s crazy. It’s like 30 people.”

In the lead up to Dec. 25th, Bublé says his guests imbibe before visiting his room of musical instruments. “Everybody has tambourines. And all the kids have little musical instruments. And then the one Jewish guy in the party — Dionne is his name, from South Africa — the one Jewish man at the party knows every Christmas song ever.”

“You know what he always says to me?” added Bublé. “He always says to me, ‘You know what Michael, if it weren’t for us Jews you wouldn’t have any Christmas music because we wrote them all.’ ”

Bublé will reportedly be spending the holidays in Los Angeles this year, where Noah is said to be undergoing treatment. Both sides of the family, from Canada and Argentina, are expected to make the trip.
