A school bus driver saved 20 elementary students from a bus fire that almost took all of their lives on Monday in College Park, Maryland.

Reneita Smith personally took each student off the burning bus and even went back one more time to make sure everyone made it to safety.

The fire was reported at about 4:45 p.m. on Monday in College Park, according to Mark Brady, the public information officer for Prince George’s County, MD Fire and EMS Department, reported KTLA.

Bystander Fazlul Kabir captured a picture of the bus and spoke to Smith about her heroic actions.

“I am a mom of two kids. It’s my job to save them” Smith told him, according to a Facebook post.

A dashboard camera on a firetruck also captured images of the bus in flames.

No one was injured in the incident. Most of the children were picked up from the scene by their parents, according to Brady.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
