While Mandy Moore’s peers were out getting arrested and running around Hollywood sans undies, she maintained her reputation as a good girl. So the singer and actress is revealing a spicier side by talking about the origins of her sperm tattoo.

The This Is Us star, 32, has a swimmer inked by the heel on her left foot, and she shared its history on Monday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. Turns out, it was a tour tat — and it’s made her have to answer quite a few questions since she’s gotten it.

“About 10 years ago, I was on tour with my band,” she explained. “When you go city to city, you’re on a bus, but you get a day room [in a hotel]. I was the only girl, so I had my own room to shower, and all the guys in my band shared a room.”

Moore was cool with sharing her shower, but she had one rule. No masturbating while soaping up in her shower.

“It became this big joke, because one of my band members was like, ‘I don’t want babies on my feet,’” she recalled. “And so we created a song called ‘Babies on My Feet’ that we sang onstage every night. No one had any idea what we were talking about.”

Here she is singing “Babies on My Feet” onstage in 2007:

Later, to commemorate the tour, “We all got babies on our feet,” Moore, who is dating musician Taylor Goldsmith, said, showing the tiny tattoo.

Moore went on to say that she’s had to explain it to many people throughout the years, especially when getting pedicures. Though it was slightly more awkward when her stunt double in the horror-thriller 47 Meters Down also had to get the same “silly joke tattoo.”

But, hey, if that’s her biggest personal embarrassment, she’s doing very well.
