Man Worries About Clinton's "Time of Month"
Rather than explain why he disagrees with Hillary Clinton’s policies, one male voter has instead decided to criticize the Democratic nominee for having a uterus - and the internet isn’t having any of it.

In a letter to the editor for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette last week, reader Carl Unger explained why he believes we need to "take our country back" from "liberals and [President Barack] Obama," and why he believes Donald Trump is the person to do it. Along with attacking social justice, gun control, and the very concept of racism, Unger also offered a very troubling reason for why he thinks Clinton is unfit to serve as president.
"They call us sexist just because we are critical of Hillary Clinton and her health," he wrote. "What if that time of month comes and she is sick at the same time?"
After his letter was posted to Twitter, many people were quick to point out the obvious flaws with Unger’s argument, including how, at almost 69 years old, Clinton is likely post-menopausal and therefore doesn’t have a "that time of month" anymore.
@ckrewson @anna_orso Someone might do Carl Unger an educational favor and tell him that Hillary is too old to have "that time of month" come

@ckrewson @anna_orso does this person realize HRC is 69 and doesn't have "that time of the month" to worry about?

But of course, that’s entirely besides the point: It shouldn’t matter whether or not Clinton still menstruates, because it has absolutely nothing to do with her ability to serve as president. As others voiced in response to the tweet, period stigma is inherently sexist, and to imply menstruation should have an effect on someone’s competence is ignorant at best, and damaging at worst.
.@ckrewson @anna_orso To responders: instead of the "she's post menopausal so it's fine" maybe don't spread sexist menstruation myths also.

@ckrewson @anna_orso It'll be okay. When we have a pre-menopausal woman president, it will still be none of his business.

And if Clinton does get her period in the White House if elected president? While Unger probably wasn’t actually looking for an answer, I’ll give him one anyway: She’ll continue doing her job without complaint, just like women have done since the beginning of time.
