Leah Remini Says Tom Cruise ‘Thinks I’m the Devil’

Leah Remini recently sat down with Larry King Now to talk about the Church of Scientology, a religion she left in 2013, after 35 years as a devout member.

She discussed various celebrities within the controversial church, and the conversation eventually led to one of Scientology’s most famous members, Tom Cruise. Remini said that Cruise “thinks I’m the devil. … Tom and most Scientologists, all Scientologists, are taught to believe that people like me are literally the devil, that we mean them harm.”

Leah has also been on a crusade to expose the controversial organization’s secrets. Her series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, gives viewers an inside look at the “abuse, heartbreak and harassment experienced by those who have left the church.”

During Monday night’s episode, the actress answered viewers’ questions from Reddit, including one asking, “Where do you think Shelly Miscavige is?”

“Shelly,” the nickname of Michele Miscavige, wife of David Miscavige, the leader of Scientology, hasn’t been seen for nearly a decade, and Remini believes that the worst may have happened. She said, “I do not know that she is alive. … I do not know that she’s being held against her will, I do not know these things. And so if the church produces her by bringing her to an event, even if she went on a program and said ‘Hi, Leah Remini, go f*** yourself’, I’d be happy to know that she’s alive.”

In 2013, Leah filed a missing persons report with the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD closed the case after a Scientology representative claimed to have seen Shelly in person.
