Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas from Mariah Carey, Tara Reid, Ashley Tisdale and More

If you’re a total procrastinator, don’t have a creative bone in your body, or are cursed with the unfortunate combination of both those traits, Halloween can be a particularly challenging holiday. Not only do you have to come up with an inventive costume that all of your friends will immediately recognize, but you’re then faced with the burden of one-upping yourself every year for the rest of your life. While for most that thought alone would be enough to swear off the holiday for good, but if you still want to try to impress every person you know this October 31st, let these celebs give you some much-needed last-minute inspo.

We all know Mariah Carey is a huge proponent of everything beautiful and wing-adorned, but showing up to your annual Halloween party year-in and year-out in the same old angel and butterfly costume can start to feel very stale, very fast. So this year, the diva switched things up going for a sexy, latex clad devil instead, accessorized with lots and lots of diamonds, of course.

Tara Reid attended Maxim’s annual Halloween party on Saturday night in this elaborate bikini ensemble that appears to be a mix between Princess Leia circa Return of the Jedi and Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen. While we’re not quite sure what exactly Reid was going for with this costume, it’s undoubtedly a very festive choice in attire.

Ok, so Ariana Grande‘s look may not exactly be a costume per se, but you’ve got to admit, a space princess and her moonlight team isn’t a terrible idea for your and your squad’s Halloween look.

And whenever you’re in a pinch constume-wise, Lauren Conrad will forever be the DIY queen of Halloween:

This year she revealed the step-by-step tutorial for how create the perfect “circus performer” costumes for you and all your BFFs, though given the current spate of very creepy clown appearances across America this month, we’d recommend pairing this look with a sign that says, “I come in peace.”

And Ireland Baldwin kicked off the All Hallows festivities early, celebrating her 21st birthday on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood this weekend dressed as “a nun that f***ed s**t up,” i.e. the perfect costume for the gal with an extra bottle of prop blood lying around.

Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens also got into costume this weekend to celebrate former co-star and friend Shenae Grimes’ birthday. While Ashley went with a Mean Girls classic, the sexy cat, Shenae opted for a sexy, spooky witch and Vanessa wore more or less what she wears everyday, albeit with a few more accessories, labeling herself a gypsy.

And finally, if none of the above appeal to you, you can always take a page out of SNL‘s book and just have a super chill girl’s night complete with simple, but coordinated costumes, plenty of selfies, and a 4am drunken total meltdown, naturally.
