Want to become a business mogul like Kris Jenner? Well, you can … if you cough up more than $105,000 in tuition and are willing to put that money into an institution with a history of legal and financial issues.

The Kardashian matriarch is in hot water after an investigation by The Daily Beast revealed Legacy Business School — the school for which Jenner is the public face and chairman of the board — is not what it appears to be.

First things first: What is Legacy Business School? When you head to the website, you are greeted by Jenner.

“Ambition is what drives us. Passion is what keeps us up at night. The impact we want to make? Now that’s what guides us to our success. Your future is waiting. What is your legacy?“ she says in a promotional video.

The school sounds more like a luxury retreat than a place of education.

“The institute’s facilities located in New York’s Trump Tower are designed as an incubator for innovation and extraordinary achievements. Extending beyond the classroom, LEGACY offers premiere amenities; dining and shopping options, as well as prime student services,” it reads on the “Explore Legacy” page. “By delivering elite personalized treatment to students, LEGACY blurs the line between school and leisure in order to captivate minds in an impactful way. LEGACY is the most exclusive, private business school in the US. … Let’s redefine education together, because our goal is the same as yours: to make you one of tomorrow’s entrepreneurial game-changers.”

So what’s wrong with becoming an entrepreneurial game-changer while going to the spa in between classes?

The Daily Beast has uncovered Legacy Business School is basically the rebranded European School of Economics (ESE).

According to the article, ESE is “a for-profit organization that has been sued a dozen times in the U.S. alone since 2006 for failing to make good on their debts, and one that the [New York State Education Department] had been trying for years to stop from operating without legal approval.”

The New York State Education Department sent three cease-and-desist letters to the European School of Economics between 200 and 2008 to try to stop them from advertising and offering college courses and degrees.

According to The Daily Beast, New York education officials say ESE filed paperwork to become a non-degree-granting institution just this year … and then applied to change its name to Legacy Business School. Legacy also apparently shares the same phone number, address, and CEO — Alessandro Nomellini — as ESE.

It’s unclear what Jenner knew about Legacy Business School’s history, as she did not comment for the article. However, she praised Nomellini at a press conference for the school last month.

“As someone who always expects the best, I was drawn to Alessandro’s concept of a white-glove business school, offering the finest amenities, with luxuries that you’d expect from a school created for the global elite,” she said at the event in Dubai.

Jenner later added in a statement, “My passion for entertainment and fashion in particular is what had led me to the institution. In my role, I look forward to supporting the executive team in expanding Legacy Business School’s connections across the industries.”

Since The Daily Beast article ran, social media accounts for Legacy apparently began scrubbing certain social media content. But neither a spokesperson for the school nor Jenner has commented on or attempted to clarify Legacy’s relationship with ESE’s shady past.
