Kim Kardashian Returns to Her Selfie Ways (Sort of)

Slowly but surely it looks like Kim Kardashian is returning to a robust social media presence after a self-imposed hiatus following her attack and robbery in Paris last fall. The 36-year-old mother of two took to Snapchat Wednesday night to share what she labeled her “first selfie of 2017 w my mama.” In the pic, she flashes a peace sign and sports a gold lip ring (which she’s been seen with several times, as of late) while momager Kris Jenner smiles in the background. Thankfully, Kris does not wear a lip ring.

She’d returned to Instagram and Twitter the previous day, to the delight of fans (who were basically freaking out that she was posting again). Shortly after Kim’s first post, tears of joy were flowing all over the Twittersphere.

On Instagram, like on Snapchat, Kim kept her messages positive and family focused. “Family,” she captioned a candid shot of her entire brood, including Kanye West and their two kids, 20-month-old daughter North and one-year-old son Saint. In the shot, Kim crouches down to the children while Kanye looks on with a sweet smile. It all looks very happy and calm — pretty much the opposite of the reports from a few weeks back that Kanye had suffered a dramatic breakdown at his trainer’s house and that there was lots of trouble brewing in their marriage.

Kim also shared a shot of herself with her arms wrapped lovingly around Saint, whose hands were a bit tangled in her long hair. Though he appeared to be not too steady on his feet just yet, he did seem to be at least starting to stand and walk. “My son,” she wrote beside the pic with a small heart emoji.

These were a far cry from the glamorous, fashion-focused pics that populated her account in the days leading up to her attack. It remains to be seen if the tone continues this way, but it’s a safe bet that fans will be delighted with just about anything she shares.
