Kim Kardashian Hopes North ‘Grows Up as Normal as Possible’

Like any mom, Kim Kardashian has ample hopes, dreams, and worries for her daughter, North West.

“When North was born, I used to pray, ‘Can she handle this life?’ Because it’s a lot to come into, a family that has the spotlight on them, and it’s very public,” she told Editorialist prior to giving birth to her second child, Saint, in December. “But I really believe people come into our lives, and they choose us, and she knows what her life is going to be.”

Kim, who is extremely close with her own mom, Kris Jenner, told the mag she hopes to have a tight bond with her daughter. “I value my relationship with [North] so much. I want to become best friends with her to the [point that] she can ask me anything,” she said. “My hope for her is that she is just really kind to people and grows up as normal as possible within all of the chaos.”

Part of that normalcy includes maintaining some privacy. The 35-year-old star has stayed out of the limelight since giving birth to Saint. “The biggest misconception about our family is that we don’t allow privacy and that we don’t have any [privacy]. That’s just completely wrong,” she explained. “My mornings are so important to me so I can get [North] up. I work during the day, and hopefully I’m there to put her down at night, which is most of the time. I like to have a really good balance between filming and sharing information on our apps… and balancing it all.”

Kim did, however, step out Tuesday night in New York City flaunting her post-baby body in a skintight black jumpsuit. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is in the Big Apple to support her husband, Kanye West, as he preps for his Yeezy season 3 show at New York Fashion Week on Thursday.
