Kid Rock’s Assistant Was Intoxicated at Time of Fatal ATV Accident

When Kid Rock’s personal assistant, Michael Sacha, fatally crashed an ATV on the rock star’s Nashville-area property last month, he was drunk.
According to the medical examiner’s report obtained by the Tennessean, the 30-year-old Michigan native’s blood alcohol content was more than 0.2 percent at the time of his death. The legal limit to operate a vehicle in Tennessee is 0.08 percent.
During the accident, which took place after a party at Rock’s sprawling Whites Creek property, Sacha suffered significant head and neck injuries. His brain was severed from his spinal cord in several areas. The official cause of death, according to the office of the Davidson County Medical Examiner, “is blunt force trauma.” The matter has been ruled “an accident.”
Kid Rock (real name: Robert Ritchie) and his girlfriend, Audrey Berry, discovered Sacha’s body on April 25. According to the report, it was down a steep ravine near the singer’s driveway. The ATV was nearby and still running.
Rock’s staffer had been transporting guests from a barbecue on the estate to the street, where an Uber driver was waiting, at about midnight. When Sacha was returning to the house, he crashed, police had said.
Rock issued a statement on his website following the crash, describing himself as "beyond devastated.” He said Sacha “was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with.”
Audio of Rock’s 911 call after finding Sacha’s body the next day was released shortly after the crash. In it, Rock was clearly frustrated with the operator, who kept asking him questions instead of sending help immediately. The singer eventually handed off the phone to Berry because he became so exasperated.
