Khloé Kardashian Shuns the Label ‘Plus-Size’: ‘F*** That, I’m a Woman with Curves!’

Khloé Kardashian says she was “shamed” for her body before she lost weight.

“I used to be someone that they would label as ‘plus-size,’ and f— that — I don’t want to be called that!” the reality star, 32, said while speaking at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Next Gen conference on Tuesday. “I’m a woman with curves, I’m what I would say is average-size at the time. I was very proud of who I was and I felt so shamed.”

Even though other people were criticizing her weight, Kardashian always loved her body.

“I still don’t think I was big,” she says. “I know I was bigger than I am now, but I was like, ‘I am sexy and hot, and I want to be in a body-con dress and a pair of jeans,’ and that was just me. I think you should be confident and comfortable in your own skin.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star admitted she did feel self-conscious when shopping with her older sisters Kim and Kourtney, because clothes weren’t always readily available in her size.

“They were petite, they could go shopping in any department store,” she says. “It was just hard for me. We would go to boutiques and we liked the high-end denim, and I remember if I needed a 31 they would go, ‘Oh 31, let me go check in the back.’ And then they’d go, ‘We don’t have that size here.’ It would always make me feel embarrassed to go shopping with my sisters.”

That’s why Kardashian’s Good American denim line is available in sizes 00 to 24.

“I remember the chubby girl in me, and I’m always fighting for my old, chubby self,” she says. “I love me big and I love me small — I don’t have a problem either way. I’m living a more healthy lifestyle where I like to be active and focus on working out, but I still don’t think that  31 is even a big size.”
