Kevin Jonas Opens Up About Jonas Brothers Split on Oprah Winfrey Special: 'Now Our Relationship Is Much Stronger'

The Jonas Brothers may have ended their musical partnership, but they'll always be bound by blood.

While siblings Nick and Joe have continued their singing careers following the band's split in 2013, Kevin Jonas has been quiet on the music front. Instead, he prefers life in the New Jersey suburbs with wife, Danielle – who announced in June that she's pregnant with a second daughter.

On Saturday, the 28-year-old will make an appearance on Oprah: Where Are They Now? to discuss the group's rise and ultimate dissolution.

"I think we had a different connection just because we were brothers," he says in an exclusive clip from the upcoming episode. "When we were on the road or at home, we were still together, and I think that made us stronger. But at the same time, I think that's what pulled it apart, which I think is inevitable when you're working with your family for so long."

The trio first began recording in 2005 and spent months on the road opening for Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, and the Backstreet Boys. "We had quite a journey," he says in an additional clip. "Our life went from zero to 60 very fast." While he had to forfeit some elements of a traditional upbringing, he insists the pros outweighed the cons. "You look at it and go, 'Well, you're having dinner at the White House with the president and playing an acoustic show for the inauguration night.' So, I'll take it!"

The band shocked fans when they called off their hotly anticipated V world tour in October 2013. Soon after, they announced the Jonas Brothers were breaking up. "It was just time. Like it or not, it was time for us to no longer be making music like that together and focus on our individuality."

While they went their own ways for a time, the brothers found their way back to being friends offstage. "For a long time, we were doing individual things [and] talking rarely. Now our relationship is much stronger."

Oprah: Where Are They Now? featuring Kevin Jonas airs Saturday, Aug. 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
