Kelly Ripa Is Mad at Her Bosses, So She Skipped Work and Became a Hero

There was a gap on Live! With Kelly and Michael Wednesday, and it wasn’t just the one between Michael Strahan’s teeth. Reportedly furious over how ABC executives handled the announcement that Strahan was leaving Live for a spot on Good Morning America, Kelly Ripa skipped work.

Ripa was reportedly not given any advance notice that Strahan was moving on, and this did not sit well with her, so she straight up didn’t come to work. Hero move.

Instead, Strahan co-hosted Live Wednesday with Ana Gasteyer, who spends five days a week roaming ABC’s New York studios in full makeup, in case of emergency. The pair shared some awkward banter about Strahan’s exit.

“I’ve been in the news lately. A bit of news that I am leaving this show,” Strahan said to boos from the studio audience.

TMZ is reporting that Ripa may not show up back to work “for the foreseeable future.” Here’s hoping she’s got a decent stock of moonshine to keep her company.
