Kate Beckinsale is moving on — beautifully.

The British actress, 42, made her first public appearance since news came out that her marriage to director Len Wiseman, also 42, is over and to say she looked good is an understatement. It’s more like: Damn, girl!

The mom of one attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards at The Old Vic Theatre in London on Sunday. Her Alberta Ferretti gown was a stunner and she worked it. And you can’t tell us this pose — showing off a perfect mani and, more importantly, no wedding ring — was random. No way. She was definitely sending a message, something along the lines of, Suitors, the line forms to the left!

How Beckinsale really feels about the end of her marriage is more of a mystery. Wiseman, whom she married in 2004 after meeting on the set of their 2003 film Underworld, was photographed out partying with a 24-year-old model named CJ Franco on at least three occasions over the last two months. After TMZ posted the series of photos of them together, Beckinsale, who has been in Prague filming Underworld 5, had her team do damage control.

An insider told People magazine that Beckinsale and Wiseman had already quietly split after their “conflicting schedules” caused them to “grow apart.” Of course, there is “no drama,” they are “still friendly,” and they “spend time together” in L.A. when Kate is there.

Uh-huh. Meanwhile, Wiseman’s rep did some work too. A second source told the mag that his “primary concern in all of this is Lily,” referring to Beckinsale’s 16-tear-old daughter with Michael Sheen. “He loves his stepdaughter and is there for her.”

But all that PR spin aside, Kate looked fabulous last night. That kinda puts the period at the end of the sentence, don’t you think?
