Kanye West Shares Secret of Marriage to Kim Kardashian After 'Famous' Premiere
Kanye West may have had his wife Kim Kardashian West co-sign before having her appear naked in a bed full of celebrities in his "Famous" music video, but that doesn't mean he was nervous his boundary-pushing clip wouldn't get her approval.
"[I say] a lot of lines other wives would not allow a husband to say," the 39-year-old rapper told Vanity Fair in an interview about the video published Friday night, "but my wife also puts up photos that other husbands wouldn't let them put up," he explained.
"One of the keys to happiness in our marriage is we're allowed to be ourselves," Kanye added. "Our life is walking performance art."
The chat came on the heels of Friday's premiere for the rapper's NSFW music video at the Forum in Inglewood, California. The presentation also streamed live on Tidal after selling out in 20 minutes on Ticketmaster.
The video, which is off his latest album, The Life of Pablo, includes a shot of 12 of pop culture's biggest figures – including Kanye and Kim – lying naked in repose while in a bed together.
The living sculptures include Taylor Swift, George W. Bush, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner and Bill Cosby. A singular bed sheet covers their naked bodies, in an imagine inspired by Vincent Desiderio's 2008 "Sleep" painting.
It's not clear which of the celebrities are playing themselves and which have been added via CGI or lookalike models. West told Vanity Fair he wanted the shot to feel ambiguous.
"We were very careful with shots that had [something] sexual to take them out," he explained.
Kim and the Kardashian family, including Khloé and Kourtney, were there to support the premiere, documenting much of it on Snapchat.

This isn't the first time Kanye has peeled back the curtain on his relationship with the 35-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. In fact the two, who are parents to 3-year-old daughter North and 6-month-old son Saint, have both been candid about their relationship in the past.
"He understands that Kim and the kids are the best thing to ever happen to him," a source close to the rapper previously told PEOPLE. "He thinks Kim hung the moon, and he knows that she's a stabilizing force in his life. And he's got exactly what he always wanted, always needed – a family of people who need him and who love him unconditionally."
The couple celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary in February, returning to Italy, where they had their lavish wedding.
"Happy 2 year anniversary to the love of my life!" she wrote on an Instagram photo of Kim nuzzling up to Kanye. "You make me so happy! I love you so much!!!"
