Jimmy Kimmel mocks Matt Damon’s ‘We Bought a Zoo’

Jimmy Kimmel roasted Matt Damon in his Oscars monologue Sunday night, but that was just the beginning: Later in the ceremony, the show aired a pre-taped clip of Kimmel watching We Bought a Zoo — the 2011 movie about, well, Matt Damon buying a zoo — and talking about his supposed love for it.

“The thing about Matt is, you can see how hard he’s working,” Kimmel says. “It’s so effortful for him.”

At another point, Damon utters “Why not?” in a clip from the film. “He makes two words feel like three words,” Kimmel, in awe, observes.

Once that segment wrapped up, the announcer welcomed “Ben Affleck and guest” to the stage to present the award for Best Original Screenplay. The “guest” was — you guessed it — Damon, and each time he tried to speak, Kimmel cued up music to play him off.
