Jeremy Renner Wore an Ugly Christmas Sweater — and That's Not Even the Best Thing About This Photo

Jeremy Renner never posts pictures of his daughter’s face, but if he did she would look a little something like this.

That’s what the Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation star, 44, noted — via the hashtag #isthatmydaughter? — when he shared this gem of a childhood photo of himself. Genetics aside, there is a lot to love about this black-and-white snap that he captioned simply with, “Christmas sweater,” and other tags including #thanksmom, #skibum, and #haircut.

First and foremost, we need to discuss that hair. These days Renner goes for short, dark, and spiked, but this was the ‘70s, baby. He was blond and beautiful, and this haircut was bowl in the front and shag in the back like every kid in his Modesto, California, neighborhood — and in 'hoods across the country. The added bonus here is that he had the beginnings of feathering on one side, and — damn, mom — those bangs are uneven.

Now let’s discuss the sweater. There is no Christmas tree, Rudolph, or wreath on it, sure, but it is still ugly between the turtleneck top and the lone cross-country skier amid foliage pattern. Of course, Renner’s sweet little face gazing at the camera offsets any ugly. What a cute kid.

Renner is the father of a 2-year-old daughter, Ava, with his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco. Considering that the girl’s father is a millionaire and her mother is a model, we’re sure the tot has a much fancier wardrobe than her dear old dad did back in the day. But decades are never kind to old fashion trends. One day little Ava will have funny old photos of herself to make fun of as well.
