“Let Them Eat Cake” by Tyler Shields

Cake hasn’t looked this good since Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner became besties.

Famed photographer Tyler Shields has teamed with some of his celeb pals — including Jaime King, Tallulah Willis, Revenge’s Christa B. Allen, Teen Wolf’s Holland Roden, and more — and stepped into a way-back machine for a series of ethereal images he’s calling Decadence. Oh, and we’ve got the exclusive first look.

With its impressive wigs, detailed gowns, and drool-worthy desserts, the images were clearly inspired by the court of Marie Antoinette in 1760s and 1770s France.

“I wanted to give my version of an inside look into what I imagine it would be like if you were able to take a photograph of The Court of the Palace of Versailles and Tuileries Palace,” Shields told Yahoo Celebrity. “It’s an intimate look at one of the most fascinating times in history.”

Shields didn’t accomplish all this in a vacuum. He had a little help from makeup artist Ashley Ann Harris, hair stylist Sienree, and wardrobe genie Sara Dinkin.

Watch a behind the scenes look at the photo shoot:

Shields shot the series in the summer of 2015 using a 50-year-old 8x10 camera, as well as various Hasselblad cameras.
