It’s Kanye West Vs. Taylor Swift: Round 2

Here we go again!

Kanye West and Taylor Swift made nice after the whole “Imma let you finish” debacle at the 2009 MTV VMAs, but he’s opening old wounds on a new track from The Life of Pablo, the album he debuted Thursday at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. On the song “Famous,” which features Rihanna and Swizz Beatz, the rapper says, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b—h famous.” The last line is then repeated for effect.

Did Taylor know the dis was coming? Depends on who you ask. Kanye went on another one of his epic Twitter rants on Friday, insisting that Taylor “gave her blessings.”

“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her…” he wrote. “First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship. 2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it. 3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. 4th B—h is an endearing term in hip hop like the word N–a. 5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with … She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him. I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS.”

Despite this, her rep told E! News she was in the dark about the actual lyrics, saying, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that b—h famous.’”

Either way, #TeamSwift has been defending her fiercely, starting with her brother, Austin. He posted an Instagram video in which he’s seen throwing out Yeezy sneakers. “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning. Here we go again,” he captioned the video.

And model/squadmember Gigi Hadid reminded her fans that she’s #TeamSwift:

Jaime King, whose son Leo is Taylor’s godchild, removed her Instagram posts about “Yeezy Season 3” after news broke about the new Taylor dis.

Kanye infamously crashed the stage during Swift’s 2009 VMAs acceptance speech — sparking one of the greatest celebrity feuds of all time — but they later made amends. In August, the 1989 songstress presented him with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the same awards show. (That was when he announced he would run for president in 2020.)

After the ceremony, Kanye even sent Taylor one of his signature flower bouquets. Because you know flowers are a true sign of commitment.

While it’s unclear what Taylor knew, Kanye reportedly did give a head’s up to someone else. According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian’s hubby reached out to Ray J to say that another one of his songs, “Highlights,” includes the line, “Me and Ray J would probably be friends if we wasn’t in love with the same b—h… You might have hit it first, but I’m rich, though.”

Maybe Kanye is the genius he claims to be. Reigniting this Taylor feud — and verbally attacking Ray J — ultimately lead to one thing: money in album sales.
