Since Heather Locklear is not currently stirring up trouble in primetime (Amanda Woodward forever!), she has free time to stroll down memory lane. And, lucky for us, her memories include marrying Tommy Lee — exactly 30 years ago today.

On Tuesday, the Melrose Place alum, 54, posted a photo from their May 10, 1986 wedding on Instagram and it’s everything an ‘80s wedding to a wild rock star should be. Think: Big hair and an outrageous white outfit — and that was just on him.

Locklear posted a second photo to mark the date and it was taken in March of that year, just prior to their wild wedding. In it, they’re tonguing. “Happy 30 years baby,” was her caption.

When the pair tied the knot three decades ago, Locklear — whose previous exes included Scott Baio, Tom Cruise, and Mark Harmon — was just 24 and a breakout star from Dynasty while the Motley Crew drummer, 23, was a self-described “rock pig.” Leading up to their wedding, People magazine reported that she had a lingerie-and-sex-toy bridal shower while he had a bachelor party with 15 bikinied mud wrestlers.

Their wedding, which took place at the Santa Barbara Biltmore, was described as “slightly more sedate,” according to the magazine. About 500 guests were there to see Lee, in his white leather tux, chomp on bubble gum as he walked up the aisle — and then toss it into a bush in front of guests. Locklear, who wore a skintight mermaid-style dress, giggled throughout the 40-minute ceremony, which included the release of a dozen white doves. (Another awesome ‘80s touch.)

The pair had met at an REO Speedwagon concert. On their first date, “I came downstairs, saw Tommy, and ran back upstairs to make my hair wilder,” she told the mag. Six months after they started dating, he got a tattoo — a big black rose ribboned with her name. On Christmas Eve, they were driving with their heads poked out of a limo on the Ventura Freeway. It was there that Lee, who was married once before, place a 2.3-carat diamond ring on her finger and yelled, "Will you marry me?” They moved in together soon after, decorating their living room with a tanning machine and a drum set.

The young lovebirds were in it for the long haul — at least initially. “I’ve only thought of getting married once. I plan for this one to last,” she gushed to the magazine. Lee predicted, "I think we’ll be the coolest grandma and grandpa in the world. We’ll be like 85 or 90; I’ll still be a rock pig, and Heather will still be gorgeous.”

Unfortunately, they didn’t make it to their gray days, ending their marriage in 1993. They both went on to have other marriages: She did the rock star thing again, saying “I do” to Richie Sambora, while Lee memorably married Pamela Anderson, whose wedding attire consisted of a string bikini. He’s currently engaged to singer Sofia Toufa while she’s been dating plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Mani.

Though the fond memories live on — at least in Locklear’s mind. Lee has yet to comment about her post on his social media accounts.
