Gwen Stefani on Her Closet: ‘I’m Really Spoiled’

Gwen Stefani isn’t afraid to admit it: She’s got a dream closet.

“I’m really spoiled because instead of having to go shopping, I get to fill my closet with my designs,” the singer, 47, tells PEOPLE while discussing her new Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stefani Red Hot! capsule collection benefitting the American Red Cross.

And it makes sense, as she’s in charge of a handful of fashion and beauty lines, from L.A.M.B. clothing to GX footwear to a line of Harajuku Lovers fragrances. Currently, she tells PEOPLE that her closet is filled with L.A.M.B. glasses and her non-Gwen-designed pieces, like DSquared2 jeans, though, she notes, it’s now leaning more heavily toward the former as “I just got a giant box with the whole new L.A.M.B. for Burton collection the other day.”

Her trick to finding just the right thing to wear: “I don’t pay attention to trends,” she says. “I just wear what I love.”

For stage looks, that means “everything all mashed up together,” she says. “I always love mixing super girly glamour with a tomboy edge.” Meanwhile, on the red carpet, it’s all about glam. “I’ve been so lucky to get to wear so many amazing and really special dresses.”

Now, she’s bringing a taste of her signature edgy punk-meets-cool girl glam look exclusively to PeopleShop, Time Inc.’s e-commerce destination, for a capsule collection that will benefit the American Red Cross Home Fire safety prevention program. People Shop will donate 20 percent of the purchase price (through November 9th) to the initiative, which is working to reduce death and injury from home fires by 25% by 2020.

“I loved being able to create a whole super cute Harajuku Lovers collection that help raise funds for a great cause,” she says. “It also makes my holiday shopping much easier. In fact, I was originally asked to design just one product for this project to benefit the Red Cross, and I asked if I could put together the whole collection instead!”

The collection features three products, each one infused with Stefani’s signature spin. Scroll down to read what she had to say about each of the items.
