Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 got some awesome posters to go with its equally Awesome Mixtape. Marvel’s intergalactic band of misfits return in character one-sheets for the sequel, which also highlights new faces like Elizabeth Debicki’s gold-skinned Ayesha and Kurt Russell’s Ego the Living Planet.
Writer-director James Gunn released three of the posters, including Bradley Cooper’s Rocket, over social media, with more coming from various members of the cast. Those include Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, Dave Bautista’s Drax, Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, Karen Gillan’s Nebula, the Vin Diesel-voiced Baby Groot, and Michael Rooker’s Yondu.
“So proud to be a part of this franchise,” Diesel wrote in a message to his millions of Facebook followers. “So proud to play one of the most interesting characters the screen has every seen. Blessed.” The actor also announced that movie ticket pre-sales will kick off Friday.
“Trust me when I say you have good reason to rejoice,” Rooker wrote next to Yondu’s poster on Facebook.
The final one to arrive was the team leader (Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord), which the actor shared on his Facebook page.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 will pick up with these heroes as they go from “kind of famous” to “kind of rock stars in their own mind,” executive producer Jonathan Schwartz teased. This time, though, Star-Lord will come face to face with his mystery dad, Ego.
The film blasts into theaters on May 5.
