Grandmother Claims She Was Punched Multiple Times in a Georgia Wal-Mart Bread Aisle
A grandmother suffered bruises to her face and arms after, she claims, she was punched several times by a woman on Sunday in the bread aisle of an Atlanta Wal-Mart, according to multiple reports.
The 75-year-old woman spoke to WSB, saying, “I thought I was safe. I was in Wal-Mart. There had to be something wrong with her, because you just don’t do that.”
The woman said she was in one of the store’s mobility scooters when she accidentally ran into another woman with her scooter, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The AJC, citing a police report, says the woman cursed at the one in the scooter to move out of the way. When she did, the woman in the scooter cursed back at the person she’d run into under her breath, which incited her to allegedly punch the one in the scooter, the newspaper reports.
“She starts socking me as hard as she could in the face, which you can tell by my face that it was pretty hard,” the woman claimed to WSB.
“I had my glasses on and she just kept socking me in the glasses, and then she socked me in my mouth because my mouth is real sore,” she alleged.
The woman yelled for help and the suspect left, according to reports. Wal-Mart employees came to help her, and that’s when the woman said she noticed the suspect had left her cell phone behind.
“She had dropped her phone in my buggy,” the woman told WSB. “Seems God did that so we could find her.”
The investigation is ongoing, according to WXIA.
