A Fascinating 'Game of Thrones' Theory May Predict Who Rides Daenerys' Dragons Into Battle

Sunday night's sixth season finale of Game of Thrones finally confirmed a longstanding fan theory: Jon Snow isn't just a Stark, he's also a Targaryen. His mother is actually Ned Stark's sister, Lyanna, and his father is Daenerys' brother, Rhaegar Targaryen. And that connection to the Targaryen family line could prove helpful later on for the King in the North.
When Daenerys was in the House of the Undying, the book shows she has a vision of her brother, Rheagar, saying, "The dragon has three heads." Daenerys has three dragons, and the Targaryen sigil features a three-headed dragon. Plus, Aegon Targaryen took Westeros with his two sisters, all three on dragons.
Mashable notes that this has led many fans to believe that Dany will have two people accompanying her on her dragons as she conquers Westeros herself. Now that we know that Jon Snow is also a Targaryen, he could be by his relative's side. And so could Tyrion Lannister, who some fans believe is actually the son of Aerys II Targaryen and Joanna Lannister. In Mereen, Tyrion was able to face down the dragons when nobody else could, after all. Though even if the books go in this direction, the HBO show has gone in its own direction, so all bets are off here.
Even still, these three characters have more in common than just potential genetics. They're all considered outcasts, and have had tragic backstories. "The three characters share the trait of their mothers dying at childbirth with them," Reddit user normal_whiteman wrote. "This is a pretty strong connection as they are the only characters in the series that have this is common."
Tyrion is already the hand of the Queen, but Jon Snow and Daenerys have yet to cross paths. With these three together, the white walkers don't stand a chance.
