Emma Watson isn’t wasting any time tackling new projects in 2016. Just a few days into the new year, the actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador has started an online book group on the website Good Reads named by one of her Twitter followers.
Hi Team, ❤️ I want to start a feminist book club but so far have only brainstormed ‘Feminist Book Club’ and 'Emma Watson Book Club’.

I am almost certain there is a more inspiring name out there…. Does anyone have any thoughts ?! #Emma'sBookClub

“As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on,” Watson wrote on the group’s page. “There is so much amazing stuff out there! Funny, inspiring, sad, thought-provoking, empowering! I’ve been discovering so much that, at times, I’ve felt like my head was about to explode… I decided to start a Feminist book club, as I want to share what I’m learning and hear your thoughts too.”
Watson said she planned to choose one book per month and post questions and quotes about it during the last week of the month. She promised to have the author or someone else who can speak on the subject join in the conversation whenever possible.
Expect her star power to attract some big names. After Watson announced that activist Gloria Steinem’s memoir My Life on the Road would be the club’s first pick, the icon herself tweeted directly to Watson and two celebs who expressed interest in taking part: actress Sophia Bush and Olympian Abby Wambach.
@SophiaBush @EmWatson @AbbyWambach after we do this digitally we’ll have to do this in person!
