Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield Step Out Together in London but Are 'Definitely Not Dating,' Says Source

They're just friends.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who called off their relationship last year after four years of dating, were spotted stepping out together in London on Sunday.

But a source tells PEOPLE their stroll was strictly platonic. "They're definitely not dating," the source confirms.

Regardless, the friendly exes were all smiles as they walked around London's Convent Garden over the weekend.

The actress, 27, wore wide-leg culottes with a white camisole and a denim jacket draped over her shoulders, finishing off the look with a pair of leather slides. Garfield, 33, bundled up in a cardigan with cuffed jeans and black sneakers.

In October, a source told PEOPLE that the two had broken up a few months earlier, after dating on and off since meeting on the set of 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man.

"There was no drama, they've been apart while working. They still care about each other," the source said, adding: "They still have love for one another. They are on good terms with each other and remain close."

PEOPLE also reported last April that the two had taken a break after feeling the strain of long-distance dating.

At the time, Garfield had been working on Martin Scorsese's new film, Silence, which was filming on location in Taiwan.

The pair were last spotted together in Los Angeles last August, and before that in Venice, California, last May.

It was announced that after finishing his latest film, Hacksaw Ridge, Garfield will return to the National Theatre in 2017 to star in a new production of Angles in America.

Meanwhile, Stone is currently in production on the real-life drama Battle of the Sexes, in which she stars as tennis legend Billie Jean King opposite Steve Carell as her opponent Bobby Riggs. She's also reportedly in talks to play 101 Dalmatians' villain Cruella de Vil in an upcoming live-action origin story from Disney.
