Long Beach State’s women’s volleyball team seems to have found a fan in Drake.

The 29-year-old rapper make a little appearance at the team’s game against Loyola Marymount University on Thursday night, but he wasn’t there by coincidence.

The “Hotling Bling” rapper was there to surprise his goddaughter, Ashley Murray, who plays for the team.

“There’s nothing more powerful than when someone shares their blessings. When they show up for you, you show out for them,” Murray wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for coming to support me and my team. Love you always. Best Godfather ever. #sixGodfather #GoBeach #family.”

Drake’s pre-game pep talk seems to have worked. According to reports, the rapper’s presence drew one of the team’s biggest crowds, and gave them the little extra juju they needed to take LMU in a 3-0 sweep, and hopefully continue their winning streak for the rest of the season.

“Thanks for the post match inspiration @champagnepapi,” one of Murray’s teammates, Ashley Anselmo, posted after the game.
