Dolly Parton Dishes on 50th Wedding Anniversary Plans: ‘We’re Going to Get in Our RV and Go on a Honeymoon’
Dolly Parton is gearing up to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary in May by getting married all over again to hubby Carl Dean. But what will the notoriously private couple do post-nuptials? The 69-year-old country legend revealed exclusively to The Insider With Yahoo that they’ve got big plans.
“We’re going to get in our RV and go on a honeymoon,” she told Insider correspondent Keltie Knight at the premiere of her TV movie, Coat of Many Colors.
Dolly and Carl tied the knot in a Georgia ceremony back in 1966. The “Home” singer was only 20 years old at the time while her groom was 23. In honor of their wedding day, Dolly says there’s a good chance they’ll probably return to the Peach State and “maybe spend the night or something like that.” While they have always been very supportive of each other, Carl decided early on to remain in the background and let his celebrity wife take the spotlight. (He’s reportedly only attended one of Dolly’s shows!) But this country couple is still going strong.
