Disney Kids Dove Cameron, 20, and Ryan McCartan, 22, Are Engaged

It’s a match made by Mickey Mouse! Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan, who met as co-stars on Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie, are engaged.
McCartan, 22, shared via Instagram that he had popped the question to Cameron, who is just 20: “Dedicating my 1,000th post to my fiancée. I can’t believe I get to call you that. Thanks for saying yes,” he wrote along with a red carpet pic of the two.
Cameron also made it social media official, posting a beach selfie of the pair: “Calling you my ‘boyfriend’ never really felt right anyway. fiancée looks better on you,” she wrote with a ring emoji.
The engagement news comes one day after the pair, who are also pop stars (The Girl and the Dreamcatcher), released a lyric video for their new single, “Someone You Like.” But we’re sure their engagement has absolutely nothing to do with promoting anything.
The twosome met as co-stars on Liv and Maddie and took their romance public in August 2013. They love gushing about each other. During a recent Twitter Q&A, he was asked his secret to “epic song making.” He replied, "Write about someone you love.”
He also dished to J-14 about their first date, which started with dinner, was followed by frozen yogurt, and ended with them gazing out upon the Hollywood Hills. “We saw all the lights, the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Park Observatory, and it was so romantic,” he said. “We were up there until 3 in the morning, just talking and looking at the lights. Then I took her home and it was the most perfect, most romantic first date ever."
Meanwhile, Cameron told Fanlala that she has been a tingle since their first kiss. "We went to this park, because he’s just like Romeo,” she said. “He brought this guitar and he was like, ‘Do you wanna come write songs with me in the park?’ I was like, 'OK!…You’re what movies are about!’” At one point, she went to kiss him on the cheek “and he turned his head really quickly and kissed me, because he knew that I was too shy to just kiss him. So, he like tricked me into it… I don’t remember this — because in my mind it was magic and sparkles— but I apparently turned away and squealed and turned bright red.“
Congrats to the very young, very happy pair. Now we’re off to have a large heaping portion of vegetables and protein for lunch because we’ve overdosed on sugary sweetness for the day.
