David Hasselhoff Seeks to Cut Ex-Wife's $21,000 a Month Alimony Bill, Wants to Plan Retirement
David Hasselhoff's $21,000 a month alimony bill is making it impossible for the actor to consider retirement, and now he's asking a judge to let him off the hook for the payments.
The Baywatch actor filed legal documents to either completely cut off or significantly reduce spousal support to his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, whom he divorced after 16 years of marriage in 2006.
According to the docs obtained by PEOPLE, Hasselhoff has paid in excess of $2.3 million to his ex-wife since they divorced ten years ago, not including the money he has spent supporting his daughters, who were teenagers at the time of the split.
"I am 63 years of age, and am at an age when I should be preparing for retirement and not having to continue working in order to pay [Bach's] support," Hasselhoff explained in the legal docs.
With his monthly gross, listed in the docs as $112,000, the actor said it would be impossible for him to continue covering his expenses and spousal support.
In addition, Hasselhoff notes that Bach, whom he describes as "an attractive woman in excellent physical health" has done little to find work to support herself.
A working actress through the 80s and 90s, she only has one acting credit since their divorce, on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, according to the docs. Described by Hasselhoff in the docs as "very capable, resourceful, and talented," Bach continues to enjoy a "privileged lifestyle" without having made a "reasonable efforts" to support herself.
