Chris Christie Expected to Suspend Presidential Campaign

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump for President

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected to formally suspend his presidential campaign later on Wednesday, a source close to his campaign tells Politico.

The GOP hopeful, who finished sixth in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday, is expected to reach out to donors and supporters on Wednesday to discuss his decision.

Christie's concession speech on Tuesday night seemed to indicate he would soon be leaving the race. He clarified that he wanted to go back to New Jersey to talk things over with his wife before making a decision.

"Mary Pat and I spoke tonight and we've decided to go home to New Jersey tomorrow and we're going to take a deep breath and see what the results are tonight," Christie said. "By tomorrow morning or tomorrow afternoon we should know."

Christie added that finding out the New Hampshire primary results, "should allow us to make a decision."
