Britney Spears Says Carpool Karaoke Was 'a Little Awkward' as She Calls James Corden a 'Teddy Bear'

"Make Me..." a bit awkward?!

Britney Spears is gushing about her epic Carpool Karaoke debut alongside James Corden on The Late Late Show.

"[Carpool Karaoke] was really fun," Spears said during a chat with KTU 103.5 FM's Cubby & Carolina Bermudez on Friday. "The guy was just so incredibly sweet. I had no idea he has kids, he's a teddy bear. I was like, 'I just want to hug you right now.'"

But Spears, 34, added that it wasn't a totally smooth ride. "It was a little awkward, like, driving by grocery stores," she continued. "People walk by and there are like 18 cameras around us. This is just so awkward."

The "Toxic" singer added that Corden "controlled the whole thing," but that she did inform him when she was getting sick of hearing the same song over and over.

"They didn't show that part," she said, joking, telling the radio hosts that "…Baby One More Time" and "Oops!... I Did It Again" were played on repeat by Corden. "Oh my God, and he kept playing them. He put a wig on for it. Yeah, I totally went along with it."

The appearance was just one highlight in a week packed with epic news for Spears – who dropped her long-awaited ninth studio album, Glory today – and will return to the MTV Video Music Awards concert stage on Sunday, Aug. 28, for the first time since 2007.
