Bradley Cooper, Others Support Jennifer Lawrence’s Wage Gap Essay

Jennifer Lawrence is receiving support from a few of her famous friends after publishing an op-ed to Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter about the gender wage gap in Hollywood.

While promoting his upcoming flick, Burnt, with Sienna Miller on Tuesday, J.Law’s American Hustle co-star Bradley Cooper revealed to E! News that he had not yet read the article titled, “Why Do I Make Less Than My Co-Stars,” but said he found the topic intriguing. “One thing I could say is that’s interesting because if you think that you only deserve a certain amount and that’s not correct, it’s about changing that mindset and sticking up for yourself the way that Sienna did,” he said. “So that’s a great thing.”

Miller went on to explain her co-star’s statement. “I walked away from a play that I wanted to do because I was offered less than half of what the other man was offered and it was just the two of us,” she said. “[I did] what we have to start doing, unfortunately, at the expense of our creative dreams.”

Gwyneth Paltrow also applauded the Oscar winner’s efforts. “I think it was very brave of her to articulate it like that,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the La Mer Celebrates 50 Years of an Icon party. “It’s fascinating because part of the issue is that women don’t feel entitled to talk about a gender gap.”

Other stars were quick to tweet their support for the 25-year-old as well. “O Jennifer Lawrence I love you so. X,” Emma Watson wrote. Lawrence’s Hunger Games co-star, Elizabeth Banks, shared Watson’s sentiment, tweeting, “I love Jennifer Lawrence.”
