When it comes to their marriage, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have heard it all.

He's gay.

She's gay.

She cheated with a co-star.

They're divorcing.

They have an open marriage.

Jada Pinkett Smith address that last rumor (which she calls "the most persistent") this week when she was interviewed on HuffPost Live.

When asked if there's truth to the statement that she and Smith have an open marriage, the 41-year-old responded with, "No. I think people get that idea because will and I are very relaxed with one another." The 41-year-old explained that the rumors also stem from how she's answered questions in past about dealing with other women when she's married to a big superstar. Then things got a little more ambiguous: "My answer is always, 'I've always told Will, you can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay. Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa."

So does that mean that the former "HawthoRNe" star has given the 44-year-old Smith – her husband of 16 years and the father of her two children – the OK to be with other women? That's how many outlets are taking her comments. Headlines going around the web on Thursday exclaimed that the former "HawthoRNe" star tells her A-list spouse to "Do Whatever You Want" and asked "Is Jada Pinkett Smith's Open Marriage Such a Bad Idea?"

A rep for Pinkett Smith has not yet responded to a request for comment.

The Smiths aren't the only famous couple who have dealt with the open marriage rumors. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; Pink and Carey Hart; and even Dolly Parton and her husband of more than 40 years, Carl Dean, have sparked whispers of open marriages for one reason or another.

Oscar-winner Mo'Nique made headlines back in 2010 when she talked during an interview with Barbara Walters about what would happen if she or her husband Sidney Hicks cheated. "Let me say this: I have not had sex outside of my marriage with Sidney. Could I have sex outside of my marriage with Sidney? Yes. Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me? Yes. That's not a deal-breaker."

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich also found himself at the center of the topic during his bid for the Republican presidential nomination last year when his ex-wife claimed he had asked for an open marriage (a claim Gingrich denied).

But back to the Smiths. The couple walked the red carpet on Wednesday night at the New York premiere of the documentary"Free Angela & All Political Prisoners" looking happy as ever … in the mirror and out.
