As someone who spent her 20s in New York City living vicariously through Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha's overly glamorous lives in Sex and the City, getting a peek inside Sarah Jessica Parker's Manhattan home is a dream come true. Because as I've grown up, so have my tastes, and I now get as excited about a gorgeous throw pillow as I do about a new pair of shoes.
So I was tickled to see that her interior décor matched her style (or Carrie Bradshaw's style, for that matter). Whimsical, colorful and full of interesting objets d'art (globes! baseballs! crazy thick dictionaries!), her home looks as playfully mismatched as her outfits on SATC were.
Parker, the mother of three kids, invited Vogue into her home and played a game of question and answer. Her 73 questions ranged from "What's your favorite season in New York?" (fall), to "What's the strangest word in the English language?" (Uranus--we agree).
As we scrambled to keep up with her, we were delighted to hear that the diehard Blackberry user struggles to balance a full career and parenthood, too. When asked, "What's the hardest part about being a mom?" she replied, "Separate and equal time with all children."
The interviewer threw her a few curveballs--you try figuring out your favorite word that starts and ends with a vowel!--but he tossed a few softballs in there, too. "High heel or flats?" Her raised eyebrow was the only answer necessary. Check out the video here and try not to swoon with delight at SJP's gorgeous townhouse and delightfully normal answers.
