Seven years after calling it quits and launching solo careers, Destiny's Child is returning … kind of. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Matthew Knowles, Beyonce's father and the manager of the mega-successful R&B girl group, revealed that not one, but two more albums will be released in November. Both will be compilations of older songs, freshened up with previously-unreleased tracks, he says.
But fans shouldn't start saving up for those concert tickets just yet. Knowles adds that there are no tour plans for Destiny's Child — which in addition to his daughter includes Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — at least "not on the first release" since he claims it would take a year to organize. "I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour," he adds. "I think it would be incredible. The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they're going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny's Child hits."
Despite Knowles' optimism, no one should hold their breath that the three members of Destiny's Child will ever perform on the same stage again. Although Rowland and Williams would probably be interested, Beyonce has found success on a much grander scale as a solo artist with 27 million albums sold and 12 Top 10 hit songs. (In comparison, Rowland is a judge on the UK version of "The X Factor" and Williams is a gospel singer whose last album sold 32,000 copies in the U.S.) Not to mention, last year the "Love on Top" singer fired her father — who sired a son with his mistress in February 2010 while married to his now-ex-wife Tina Knowles — as her manager after it was discovered that he had reportedly "stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour … that [he] was not entitled to" after she had her law firm conduct an audit.
